Who do I contact for...
Absences and Tardies:
To report absences or tardies, call 650.802.8222 or contact Annabella Davalos (adavalos@brssd.org) and Monica Rubio (mrubio@brssd.org)
Specific student requests, curriculum questions, etc
Your student’s teacher should be your primary contact about your student. Teachers will send out regular newsletters to families. If you have questions, concerns, or information to share about your student, please contact your student’s teacher first via email. Note that teachers may take up to 3 days to respond due to their preparation times falling on different days.
If you have communicated with your student’s teacher and still need support, please call the main office to schedule a time to connect with the school principal
Requests for assessments, questions about special education or services your student receives
If your student currently has an IEP and you have question about their services, want to request a meeting, or have general questions about progress on their goals→ student case manager
If you are requesting an assessment for special education and your student does not currently have an IEP → Ms. Herrera (kherrera@brssd.org) and include school psychologist Ms. Juliet Taylor (jtaylor@brssd.org) for academic concerns or Ms. Marie Pacquet for speech assessments (mbpacquet@brssd.org)
If you are requesting or inquiring about a 504 plan → principal Ms. Herrera (kherrera@brssd.org)
Socio- emotional concerns or inquiries
Your student’s teacher will continue to be the primary contact for any socio-emotional questions or concerns, as they know your student best of any Redwood Shores staff. Please always reach out to them first regarding any inquiry or concern.
Our school counselor, Ms. Doss, will be your contact for any socio-emotional that requires support outside of the classroom or for concerns that require higher level interventions that may include experiencing a big loss or change in the home, ongoing peer issues, or showing signs of mental health concerns. You can reach Ms. Doss at adoss@brssd.org

Parent and Guardian communication & conferencing
Guardian/ Parent Communication
ParentSquare is our district wide communication tool. This is how you'll keep up to date and receive messages from RSES. Please make sure you're registered for ParentSquare (Click HERE) and download the app directly to your phone!
Each Tuesday, you can expect a message from the Principal will come via ParentSquare titled the “Seal Community Bulletin.” The PTA sends “The Catch” every Sunday.
Your student’s teacher will send an update at least every other week
Click Here to view which staff you should contact for which purpose. Check our school website for an updated list of teacher emails
You may contact the front office with information requests, messages for your student or teacher, or questions during school hours. The school telephone is not available for use of students except in emergencies
Please keep all guardian and emergency contact information up date with our office
Communicating with your teacher & staff
Teachers are available via email or parentsquare for updates, inquiries, or other information regarding your child
We suggest you make an appointment if you wish to talk with the teacher about your child’s progress. During the time that students are present (including directly before and after school), the teacher is not available for drop in conferencing due to supervision and preparation duties.
Conferences regarding your child’s academic progress will be held in November and again in the Spring. Please contact your child’s teacher if a conference is needed at another time.
All staff may take up to 3 school days to respond. ParentSquare and emails are monitored during the teacher work day only: Monday-Friday 8:15-3:15
