PTA Message
Greetings Seals Families! Your PTA looks forward to serving the Redwood Shores Elementary School community this year!
First and foremost, we hope to encourage and foster a strong Seals community. Families should feel supported and welcomed and there are many ways to volunteer your ideas, skills and time to help our community during the school year. We welcome your creativity and all of your questions too!
The PTA provides community building opportunities as well as on-going support for our school. Here are some details about the PTA (supporting PTA and SchoolForce will be part of the Student Information Update process coming in early August).
The purpose of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organization is to support every child by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
With a child enrolled at Redwood Shores Elementary, you are already their advocate and a welcome member of our community. Families become active PTA members to support each other.
The PTA supports your child, your child's teacher, your child's learning environment and our school and surrounding community.
PTA members have voting rights at PTA General Association Meetings – so you can influence how our donations and budget are spent and be well informed.
Our local PTA is also a member of the National PTA Organization.
A portion of local dues goes toward Council PTA, District PTA, California State PTA and National PTA. All levels of PTA provide training materials, workshops, support, newsletters, legislative representation and advocacy, and community programs.
Fellow parents and teachers at RSES appreciate PTA members!
Since 2020, PTAs and SchoolForce have partnered to ensure ALL school site needs are met by parent dollars. The “ask” from parents is $2000 for each student. These dollars allow for classrooms to have supplies, additional staff including counselors, librarians, community building, art and music. Most importantly these dollars allow for hundreds of thousands of dollars to be invested in our schools so our students have the academic opportunities that are comparable or better than neighboring school districts.
Our schools are award winning educational institutions where rigor, resources and opportunity abound for our students and we are grateful for the parents that invest every year so all BRSSD schools and students can reach their full potential.
Please donate to support Sandpiper!
The PTA also relies on your spirit of volunteerism. We need more ideas and help with implementation, so if you're at all willing to lend a hand, please contact me. All of our efforts TOGETHER can lead to great experiences and accomplishments!
The PTA Executive Board works tirelessly to help families stay informed of important information, options and expectations and to ensure that we start off the new year successfully. If you want to learn about more ways to help, or have any questions, concerns, or simply ideas to share, always feel free to reach out to me.
Whether you're new to the school or a dedicated PTA parent, please join the Seals Community as we embark on a quest to ensure Redwood Shores Elementary School reaches our greatest potential. It truly takes a village and I am so proud to be a part of this community. Let us all share in this Seals Pride TOGETHER!
I look forward to talking with you soon!

Supporting PTA / Educational PROGRAMS
Our PTA is committed to the partnership with our Education Foundation, SchoolForce to work together supporting all students and staff in our district. The Education Committment Campaign will officially kick off in August and we ask families to support this effort to make your child's education as well rounded and enriching as possible. Donations to the campaign provide educational programs (art, science, music), teacher professional development, classroom and student supplies and instructional support, virtual assemblies and field trips, technology upgrades, and much, much more. Each one directly impacts your family! Keep an eye out for more information about the Education Committment Campaign. Your donation of $10 per student per school day, (or $1800 for the school year), can be made all at once, or in monthly installments.
