All you need to know before your child starts at Redwood Shores Elementary School

Redwood Shores Elementary School welcomes you to our community. We hope to make the registration process as easy as possible for both students and parents, and are available to answer all of your questions. To find out more about our school registration deadlines, please contact us.

For 2012 - 2013:

Parents who would like more information on the school enrollment and assignment process  should visit the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District web page or call 650-637-4800.
  • Parent Kindergarten Visitation:
  • Thursday January 12th at 9:00am
  • Tuesday January 24th at 9am
  • Registration Documents: Registration documents are available on the district website and in the school office. They will be available at each of the registration events.
  • First Enrollment Period:
  • Redwood Shores Elementary sibling registration - February 6th to 10th. This will take place at Redwood Shores Elementary School. Sibling priority lasts the month of February.
  • New Student registration:
    • February 15 – New Students 1 p.m. - 8 p.m at Ralston Middle School
    • February 16 – New Students 8 a.m. – 4 p.m at District Office
    • February 17 – New Students 8 a.m. - 4 p.m at District Office
    • February 27 - New Students 8 a.m. - 4 p.m at Nesbit School
      (Spanish Translator Available)
    • February 28 – New Students 3 p.m. – 6 p.m at District Office
    • February 29 – New Students by Appointment Only at District Office
  • Second Enrollment Period (for New Students):
    • March 1st to June 8th:
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m
    • Tuesday, Thursday – 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m at the District Office
  • Third Enrollment Period:
    • June 11 – August 17 at the District Office
  • School Assignment Notification:
    • for First Enrollment Period on April 1st
    • For Second Enrollment Period on July 1st
    • For Third Enrollment Period from August – Prior to Start of School Year

Registration Procedure

Parents & legal guardians can download the documents below (or pick up registration packets at the school).

For those with other living arrangement (not home owners, or renters), download this Notarized Verification Form.  This will be needed before registration will be accepted.  Please read carefully, and provide all documents as stated on the registration checklist.

To hasten the process, please bring original documents and provide one copy of each, if possible. We will review the original, return it to you, and keep the copy.   Please be prepared if there are lines - every effort will be made to expedite the registration process.  Your patience will be appreciated.


Kindergarten registration is due early so the school can plan effectively for the upcoming school year.  Keep in mind that school offices will be closed or open on a very limited basis for summer. Parents are encouraged to submit their registration as soon as possible to avoid delays.
